When my warehouses tell me who the shipper is, I leave a note on both the front and back doors, stating for them to leave article without signature, and I sign the note for them to take as a signature. My UPS driver leaves all packages in my back door on porch or under awning near the entry door of the garage. It pays to have a communication with the drivers. FedEx could not find me for awhile and DHL always uses the front porch. Try to remember the note thing, I see it throughout the day when I deliver the mail. Also, remember to add a note about delivery when you order, this really sets the time and location.
